Flora Europaea subshrub, Ch, 2n=28, tetraploid mesoxeric-xeric, calciphyle, saxicole, from the lower nemoral to boreal southern Carpathian (endemic for Romania) Seslerion rigidae, Stipio pulcherrimae-Festucetalia pallentis,, Asplenietea rupestris, Teucrion montani R3401-3403, R62 habitats         This species is probably the Romanian endemic plant with the widest range and the most expanded populations. It virtually lives in all the calcareous, basaltic or amphibolitic low altitude mountains and hills from the Romanian Carpathians.
